Anthony Russomanno '25 Recruiting Profile

I love to play, watch, discuss, and compete in basketball. I have been playing since I was 8 years old and want to continue in college. Not only do I play for my high school, but I also play club for Kings Basketball Club locally in San Clemente where I get to play against great competition in Southern CA. I play nearly 75 games per year between club and high school (not including pick up). This year on Varsity I saw more limited minutes yet still lead the team in 2 point shooting percentage (62%) and second in 3 point percentage (37%). Last year I was MVP of the JV and led the team in scoring, assists, steals, free throws/percentage. I look forward to competing on an extremely talented Varsity squad next year. I enjoy tracking the history of basketball, statistics, and regularly stay up to date on the NBA and NCAA college games. Basketball has made me more resilient. I was surprised that I could be so engaged in a game and learned that I like the precision and accuracy of it so I enjoy working on my craft outside of practice, shooting hundreds of shots - I have a gym membership at 24 Hour Fitness so I am a "gym rat." Outside of the sport, I also am involved with our local NJB Basketball where I work as a coach of middle schoolers as well as a scorekeeper. Maybe one day I will even coach as a job.

I think I am very coachable, have a high basketball IQ, and an excellent 3-point shooter. I play great defense (even help side), am in the right positions on the court, and have excellent court vision. I will always pass up a shot for an even better shot for a teammate. I have a floater, can finish at the rim and have a mid and long range game. My high school coach has also said I am the "best weak side defender on the team." More recently I was also on the HS baseball team but decided to put all my focus into basketball.

I am conscientious, consistent, and a great teammate. I hope I can take my game to the next level.

Academics are important to me and I look forward to earning a college degree either in business, sports management, math and/or data and analytics (or a combination). I am excited for the possibilities after high school.
