Emilio Guzman '16 Recruiting Profile

My dreams and aspirations has always been to play Basketball in High School and College. I have achieved one of my goals of playing for my High School. I am a 5'8 Sophomore at Merrill F. West High School in Tracy, CA. I am versatile player. Even at my height I can play a number of position. I play point and shooting guard with above average jumping ability. I have an uncanny ability to rebound above much taller players because of my timing. I believe that you need to set high goals, but make them achievable so you can succeed. My goals are to make  my team better by being a facilitator within the structure of the team. Being a team player is critical for any team to be successful. Knowing and understanding my role on the team will help me achieve my dreams. When I graduate from College i plan on starting my own business enterprise and follow in the steps of my Father, Grand Father and Aunt.I also think that anyone who has had the opportunity to play a sport should always think about how to give back to the community. I plan on working with the youth to help them set and achieve their goals. I know there are a lot of kids that love basketball as much as I do. I would like to open basketball gym's to give kids more opportunities to play. I would also like to travel and see the world.
