I believe I am good candidate for any team because of my character. I am not one to shy away for a challenge and I value team effort. I consistently give 110% as a student and athlete which is evident in my grades and work ethic. I appreciate critique and enjoy learning. When I am on the court, I hustle. What separates me from the other boys is that, I love playing defense. All kids can dribble and shoot but which boys can lock up the opponent that is on fire. I am that guy. I believe my defensive style sets me apart from other point guards.
If I had to pick one word to describe myself, it would be tenacious. I don't give up easily even when the odds are stacked against me. I attribute my work ethic to the many valuable lessons I've learned playing basketball. I have been extremely passionate about basketball since I dribbled my first ball. Basketball has taught me to work hard, learn from disappointments and to be appreciative for those who have helped me along the way. In life, we sometimes struggle but struggle doesn't discourage me. As a baby, I struggled doing what most babies did naturally. In elementary I struggled a lot in school, but I was determined to excel despite being classified with learning abilities. I never let that hold me back.
For me, the key to being successful is confidence. I recognize my short comings but what sets me apart is I work daily to improve them. No shortcuts or excuses! I am constantly looking for ways to improve and this drive is infectious to all those around me. Being different doesn't make me any less capable and I pride myself for never settling.
