John Bates '17 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6'1” Shooting Guard from Bear, Delaware. I am a hard working person both academically and athletically, going into my senior year at A. I. DuPont High School in Wilmington, Delaware. I have a 3.6 GPA.

I love basketball and have been playing for either school and/or AAU teams since I was in middle school. It is my dream to play sports on the college level. I am looking for a college that will best fit me academically and athletically and provide the right balance between the classroom and the court. I believe my best fit would be at the DII, but will consider all options. My goal is to attend a university with an excellent math program. On the court, I plan to be a dynamic player and positive influence on the team. As I grow both physically and mentally throughout my college basketball career, I will strive to be an asset to the team. Most importantly, I will conduct myself with honor and respect on and off the court, knowing that the way I carry myself reflects my team, my coaches, and the school I attend.
