Personal Statement

I have been playing basketball for the past 5 years, and have played multiple sports my whole life. When I started basketball, I picked it up immediately like everything else. Since I started late to basketball, I was a bit behind when it came to skills because most others played basketball their whole life, but I kept practicing and now I am as good as, if not even better than, everyone else on my teams. I am extremely coachable and will play any position you ask of me. You could even put me at center even though I'm only 5'9".

All my coaches, in any sport, have said I'm a great leader, a fast learner, a great teammate, display great sportsmanship, and am great on the court, and off the court as well (in school). I am a hard worker and will work my butt off during practice, games, and in school. My goal is to play in college, but since I am entering my sophomore year and I don't know what I want to major in yet, I don’t know what school is best for me.

During the 2021 summer, I had the opportunity to be a junior counselor at a basketball camp I aged out of and refereed games. I also assisted other counselors and coaches. In the pandemic, as a freshman I learned via Lee Home Connect (through Fort Myers High School) and maintained high honor roll throughout the year, scoring well on end-of-course exams.

Over the past year, I have practiced a lot and built muscle strength, but I still know I have a lot of work to do to improve my game. Many of my teachers have said what a good student and kid I am. I have earned straight A's since Kindergarten and don't have any plans to stop. Academics have always, and will always, come first. In eighth grade I was awarded the Scholar Athlete of the year at Lexington Middle School for maintaining a 4.0 GPA all three years while excelling in multiple sports.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
