Hello, my name is Elias Alberto Feliz and I am a class of 2025 basketball athlete based out of South Florida. I would be honored to be part of your basketball program and wanted to share a little bit about me so that you can get to know me better.
Currently I am a 17 year old senior at Sheridan Hills Christian School, a private Christian school in Hollywood Florida. I have been an outstanding citizen and honor roll student throughout my high school years. After graduation I am planning on taking a year and joining a Prep School program to further develop my skills and physical conditioning in order to be more prepared for college basketball. In addition to basketball I have also participated in flag football and baseball, and I am regularly active in school plays and musical productions. I am a first generation American Dominican, born in New York and moved to South Florida at the age of seven. I form part of a big family, we are 10 in total. My parents, my biological brother, an adopted brother and sister, and 4 foster siblings.
I have been playing basketball since I was 5 years old, my father loves basketball and introduced me to the game early on. I have trained in local leagues like CBBA in Cooper City and South Florida Youth Basketball League in Davie. I also have played travel basketball from 2021-2022 for the Heat Elite and AAU in 2023 for the Sonics. I am truly a guard, however due to my height I am used regularly in the forward and center positions. My favorite players are Carmelo Anthony, Stephen Curry, Luka Doncic, Kevin Durant, and Klay Thompson and I consider my game more comparable to someone like Klay Thompson.
I've always been fascinated by NBA shooters, so it only made sense that I would develop my own shot. I've spent endless hours in the gym working my father, which has improved my shot significantly. This is the result of many hours spent working out and trying to outperform every player in the area; my father was careful to instill this in me from a very young age. My father wanted me to understand that nothing good comes easily in life and that I had to work hard for all I wanted in order to achieve my goals. He instilled in me traits that have shaped who I am as a man and someone who can support those around me.
My father owns a restaurant in Miami and I have been working in the business since 10 years old. This experience has allowed me to learn different aspects of the business and afforded me to get experience in hospitality, marketing, sales and working as a team. I am also a volunteer at our local church, The Bridge Church in Miramar, where I assist in various children ministries and youth programs like Awana, Bridge Students and summer camps.
I believe that the combination of my basketball skills, academic results, family values and life experience make me a strong candidate for your basketball program. In me you will get a hard working athlete both on and off the court, who will show up every day, give my best and help your program reach success.
Thank you for your time, I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Elias A. Feliz
