Personal Statement
I’ve been playing basketball since I was 7 years old. Since I first stepped on the court I knew I wanted to play at the next level. I’m a consistent shooter with a good handle, explosiveness, and a good IQ. I am very coachable and strive to be the hardest working player for any team I am a part of.
Off the court I study and maintain a high GPA. I’m also part of several clubs which help me commit to being involved in my community.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the court. I’m open to all options and want to find the right fit at the highest level of competition possible.
I have learned that I crave competitive environments, even ones where I am not the best. Competing at the local rec level I was awarded MVP for our entire program out of more than 100 kids. At 15 I tried out and made a competitive team where at 6'0" I was the shortest on the team and I gained little personal recognition for myself. I was very humbled as we competed at top level AAU tournaments. This led me to push myself with intense preparation to play at this next level. I joined a gym and got a personal basketball trainer, so that I could thrive at my position. I am learning to push through disappointments and work with my team for a common goal. My aspiration is to drive the team to a higher level with my persistence and dedication.
I hope to apply the lessons I learn on the court to my life to become the best version of myself.
