My collegiate and personal goals focus on playing basketball professionally and on subsequently pursuing a career in the field of sports management or business. I know that both of these fields are extremely demanding and competitive, but I am determined to make every effort to fulfill my aspirations and to do what it takes to succeed. I believe I am a strong candidate for your team as I am determined, persevering and disciplined and never give up until I have achieved what I set out to do. Although I have spent the past two years in boarding schools in the US, away from Greece, my home country, I have maintained  a good academic average, while also keeping up with rigorous athletic training. During this time, I have adapted to the life of an athlete and have acquired many new skills, both as a basketball player, as well as in my interpersonal relationships.   Most importantly, I have learned the value of being a team member, of playing fair and of doing my best, even in difficult situations.  Given that English is not my first language, I have had to work extra hard to maintain a good academic record, and to acquire the necessary skills with which to graduate from an American high school. However, i did not for a moment think of giving up, first because I welcome challenges and secondly, because my dream to play basketball is first and foremost on my priority list.  I hope that my efforts will be rewarded and that I will be given the chance to demonstrate my enthusiasm and my commitment as a team player and as a student.
