I am a self starter, committed and coachable student athlete.
I realize that basketball is not an ends but rather a means. It has taught me that persistence overcomes adversity, and has given me the self confidence that no obstacle is insurmountable.
Moving from YMCA, to D2 to D1 travel basketball, I have learned through Basketball that the process is just as important as one's innate skills, and that through process you can develop your ability. Being on the bench is not an end state, but rather a beginning stage where one has to work your way up. Let downs, disappointments are all part the process and its not what happens to you but rather how you react and respond to adversity that opens the doors to one's success.
I have applied these "lessons" that basketball has taught me to my academic life and look forward to applying them in college and my professional career.
