Joshua Edwards '25 Recruiting Profile

I have a driving passion for basketball and to play at the collegiate level. I have been playing basketball since I was 5 years old, and I have been incessantly working on my basketball game. I have set goals for myself as a basketball player, as an individual, for my education and my career. I have learned that setting goals are vital if you want to continue to grow and develop. I’m pleased that I have outstanding ball handling skills, a good working command of basketball fundamentals, great vertical, with an exceptionally high basketball IQ. My shot has great range, smooth form and a quick release. I have a tremendous work ethic and I am constantly learning new skills and improving my game. 

I am very coachable. I realize the importance to receiving and absorbing any kind of feedback, regardless of the coaching style. In addition, having a good character is of utmost importance to me. 

I am a leader on and off the basketball court. I know that basketball is a team sport and I am deliberate about encouraging my teammates and being an example. I am very involved in community service and leadership-building activities. An integral part of my purpose is to be an inspiration to all those I come into contact with. I am self-motivated and determined to excel. I strongly believe in community enrichment and making a positive difference in people’s lives.

My academic achievement is very important to me. I am a disciplined student who has a focused aim to excel in academics and whatever area is destined for me. I am intent on attending a college that gives me the opportunity to play basketball, that has a high concentration on academics and career development. I realize that to achieve anything significant, it takes discipline, hard work, consistency, a positive attitude. I know I can make an invaluable contribution on and off the court as I have a lot to offer. I am looking forward to furthering my collegiate career, excelling on and off the court, and making my family proud. I am confident I will make a positive impact wherever I am.
