Personal Statement
The highlight of my high school career thus far was coming to Florida from the Bahamas and making the All Seminole County Team. I was taught that we all have limitless potential inside of us we only need to harness and focus it into one direction which was the reason my parents made such a huge financial and emotional sacrifice. My parents’ selfless act is what drives me to shine giving me the confidence that I will be a valuable asset significantly contributing to any college academic or sports program. From a young age I learned that we can use our God given talents and abilities to advance in life despite our circumstances. This philosophy created many opportunities and allowed me to excel in academics and sports throughout my scholastic journey.
I fell in love with basketball from the second grade and throughout the years it taught me a valuable life lesson. In life all goals and successes are achieved by a team effort, no one can claim that they did it alone. I love the constant development and work required to improve all aspects of my game. I have learned to be humble in winning and grateful for the opportunity to compete in losing. Unlike any other sport I believe you don’t have to be the biggest, strongest or the fastest to be the best, you have to be the most skilled. I am looking for a college that can mold me into the most skilled player that I can be. Over the years I have discovered that I have always brought the best out of my peers and teammates by my words, my actions and my behavior. My ultimate academic goals are to graduate from high school with a 3.6 or higher G.P.A and to obtain a college degree that will secure my future.
