James DeYoung '26 Recruiting Profile

I love playing basketball, and I think about basketball all day. I just want somewhere to play where a program believes in me and my ability. I am the best player at my school, so I know how to play when I have the ball in my hands and to have all the pressure on my shoulders to perform/win. I have also been called to be a leader on my team and make my teammates better. On the other hand, I play for a great AAU team, where I learned to play my role for us to be successful. There might be other players on my team who are more dominant and take more shots, so I developed the ability to be efficient in my scoring (especially my shooting) and to make splash plays through my defense. Whatever role you may have for me, I am prepared and willing to work hard and compete in order to win and be successful.
