Amari Nealy '24 Recruiting Profile

I am looking for a college to call home and team while I pursue my undergraduate degree in Sports Management. It has always been my dream to play college basketball. I went through a lot of obstacles when I was younger because I didnt always look like a basketball player. So I was teased a bit here and there. However, I have an amazing mom who never let me give up on my dream and she used to always tell me the best way to silence a naysayer is to prove them wrong. I want to play D1 (who doesnt right) and go to a school that will continue to allow me to grow not just in basketball but as a business major also. What makes me a good candidate for the right team...For one I am dedicated to whatever i set my mind on, I understand the importance of making my grades and knowing how to balance and I am also a team player. I understand the game, I have a great IQ on the court and I understand there are always levels to everything.  As a player on your team, you will have in me a solid player who will consistently grind in the gym, on the court and in the books. I am laser focused on what I want to achieve. What makes me different is my ability to always smile over all adversities and to just not have a quitting attitude. I learned that from my mom which is why I want to make her proud and show her that all her hard-earned money, time and sleepless nights never went to waste. She never gave up on me. I got something to prove not just to myself but to all who doubted me as well as those who supported me. I went from battling pre-diabetes (and beating it) to now fulfilling my dreams. I am ready just waiting on my opportunity to prove it.
