Hello Coaches! My name is Jameel Jones, and I’m currently a senior in High School. I was 6 years old when basketball became an important part of my life. My family and I moved around a lot. It was hard to make friends, so basketball helped me find a group of boys with the same interest. At the age of 12 my dedication for the sport grew as my height became the talk during the games. Although I am the team's tallest player, I did not use that as an excuse and I play extra hard to pull my weight. This landed me as the starting five and this is when I knew I wanted play at the collegiate level.
Playing basketball has allowed me to establish life-long friendships and it is the source of my relentless and driven attitude. My uncle always says excellence is a lifestyle and now that I am older I finally understand what he means. I want to do my best at everything I attempt.
I have strong physical defense and mental toughness. I am very coachable. I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the basketball court. I strive to be one of the hardest working recruits you'll find. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers, in my community and make my parents and siblings proud.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
