I have a very deep passion for basketball. I've been playing since I was very young. I started out as a recreational team player through middle school. After we had moved to a different school zone, I was unable to play for the middle school and continued to play recreational basketball. Under the leadership of Coach Buckson(may he rest in peace) he taught me the value of being a team player as well as how to utilize my skills. Next, I played three years for high school. I've always given my best effort whether win or lose. I've attended camp and skill development training. I have strong leadership skills off the court and in the class room. I also believe humility, encouragement, and strong faith keeps me where I need to be. I know that I'm coachable, hard worker and strive to make improvements when necessary.
In the class room, I try to maintain structure in study habits to keep my grades up. Helping my class mates to better understand classwork or homework is all a part of teamwork. Just like the youth in the neighborhood or volunteering with recreation department, to keep the kids active to positive things in life.
That's why I want to attend college, to better educate myself and hopefully play basketball at the college level. I will be pursuing a degree in Athletic Training. Hopefully one day have the opportunity to give back to community or tell of my journey about the importance of education as well as enjoying a sport you love. My mom says stand strong and don't give up on your dream.
