Matthew Martinez '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Matthew Martinez and I’m currently a Sophomore at Von Steuben High School which is located in Chicago, Illinois. The love of becoming a more all around player is what brings me back to the sport everyday. My goals expand more past just basketball, I look forward to getting a great education as well. This as well as being a productive player within a program. I'm excited about the journey that I'll be on over these next few years. I’m a team focused player and understand that winning is done together as a whole. I am currently the Captain for the JV team, and have been pulled up to be with varsity. I'm able to contribute in all phases of the game and with my unbreakable mindset and heart. I can defend multiple positions on the floor very effectively for my size. Through hard work and determination I know anything is possible for my journey. I’m searching for an opportunity to earn my spot and be within a program that pushes me to reach my full potential. I love not just the game but many of the lessons it’s taught me so far. I am so excited about the future and what this passion will lead me to.
