Josh Garland '20 Recruiting Profile

For as long as I remember, I have always loved playing basketball.  I have been the starting point guard on many great feeder, high school and AAU basketball teams.  In 5th grade my AAU team, Rising Stars, won the Illinois State Championship.  My current AAU team, All In, plays in the NY2LA Association and is gearing up for a great spring.  After being named MVP of my Freshman and Sophomore teams, I am excited for the challenge of playing varsity basketball at Deerfield High School with the goal of cutting down nets.

I am a serious student with a GPA of 3.58.  This semester I am working even harder and getting straight As in hope of raising my GPA.  I am interested in majoring in business.  I am looking for a school that challenges me both academically and athletically. 

I strive to be the player that teammates love to play with because they know I am going to get them the ball at the right time and that I will do the little things to help our team win.  I hope to play basketball in college.  I am looking for a university with excellent academics as well as an opportunity to play the sport I love.
