Hello my name is Matthew Acevedo. I'm a 6'3 senior combo guard at Maine West High school. I am a combo guard but my main position is a shooting guard. I was recently nominated as North West all area team and all conference finishing the season with 74 threes, 17.4 points a game and 5.5 rebounds a game. Also all tournament team selection in my Thanksgiving tournament. One thing you have to know about me is that I will do whatever it takes to win a ball game. Whether it is scoring, rebounding, or defending the best player on the opposing team. I'm all about the team and being a leader on the court and In the classroom. My ACT is 25 and a 2.8 GPA. Also, I work really hard to become better. I have been in the gym and workout room everyday during last offseason to be the best that I can be and to become an all around player to help my team win. I feel that I have worked really hard to put myself in the best position to succeed. I believe in the quote, "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard". I give my all on every single play and won't settle for anything less than my, and my team mates best.
