Every coach I have had has described me as a hard working individual with the infinite drive to improve. I went from not playing in games my eighth-grade year to being a bench player on the freshman team. I worked myself into the starting line-up and became the freshmen team's leading scorer, rebounder, and shot blocker. I then was moved up to the varsity team as a freshman to play for playoffs and stayed up for my sophomore year. I began sophomore year not playing much but slowly made my way into the rotation as a defensive presence in the paint. Sophomore year for me was about doing my job and I did just that. As as a junior I was one of the leaders of the team, taking a primary scoring position in the offense. My junior year began with a challenge. Our Division 1 bound point guard received a thirteen game suspension two days before our first game. This thrust me into the sole leader position on the team and forced me to become a dominant low post scorer. I embraced the adversity and led my team through the first half of the season. Now I am preparing harder than ever for my senior year of high school basketball. I will not be denied my dream of playing collegiate basketball. My drive to improve has never been hindered regardless of the challenges I have faced. Whether it be in the classroom or on the court, I will find success. In conclusion, I have proved myself to be a team player who will complete the task at hand and strive to do more.
