Personal Statement
I started playing basketball in third grade. I didn't immediately fall in love with the sport. It was in about 6th grade when my passion for the sport grew and as a result so did my work ethic towards getting better. Outside of the regular season and practices, I started training with Jordan Delp who is a Professional Skills coach for Pure Sweat basketball. I knew that he had trained other athletes in my area who went on to play college basketball and beyond. I also joined an AAU Team so I could play competitive games year round. This allowed me to step outside of my usual school basketball program and experience a different level of basketball gaining knowledge from new coaches as well as players.
I have been working hard to someday get the opportunity to play basketball in college. I have not set my sights on one particular school. I just know that I love the game and when the day comes when I am a senior and graduate, I will not be able to leave the game behind. I am determined to continue working and to not be satisfied in order to take my game to the next level. I am focused on my schoolwork as I have aspirations to get into the financial industry post college. I look forward to the opportunity to not only play basketball in college, but as a result gain lifelong friendships with my teammates and coaches.
