Personal Statement
- My name is Marco Fitch, I am an incoming Junior at Bloomington High School North, IN. I have been blessed with two outstanding parents that have pushed me to become a better person and player. They are the two most influential people in my life and their resilience and work ethic has definitely rubbed off on me. They have taught me to never take things for granted and to always be kind and understanding of others. I have always had a huge passion and love for the game of basketball. My dad would take me to Pacer games when I was very little and I have been hooked ever since.
- Basketball has taught me the importance of teamwork, hard work, discipline, leadership, and toughness. Growing up my biggest obstacle was my height. In my earlier years I was always younger and shorter than everyone else. This meant a few things for my game. I had to be more skilled and play smarter than everyone else. My knowledge of the game, as a result, grew at a much faster rate than those around me. I had to start weight/ speed and agility training at a much younger than normal age. Eventually I grew and caught up with everyone but, this obstacle made me a much more skilled, stronger, and smarter player which has helped me perform better than others in the long run.
- My hopes for the rest of my academic high school career are to finish my last two years with a GPA of 4.0 or higher and to prepare myself for college. My collegiate goals are to achieve an academic or athletic scholarship and to get a solid education preferably studying sports exercise physiology. I am a very hard-working, tough, dedicated leader on and off the court and I believe that I can make an impact for my coach and team at the collegiate level.
