Logan Lankenau '22 Recruiting Profile

For as long as I can remember basketball has been a big part of my life. However, I was never very serious about it until I began working out with a former college coach during my 8th grade year.  Working with Coach Burns made basketball the most fun it had ever been for me.  Shortly after I began working with Coach Burns he told me that I had serious potential. His confidence and encouragement drove me to pour all of my time into this sport and to work as hard as I could.  The game became a serious passion for me. My freshman year at Carroll High School was a big transition academically and athletically.  My 8th grade class at Emmanuel St. Michael Lutheran contained 30 kids.  My freshman class at Carroll is more than 20 times larger!  Carroll has over 2,600 students.  I increased my GPA from semester one to semester two and finished the year with a 3.51 cumulative GPA.  In basketball I earned a spot on the JV team, one of only two freshmen on the team.  For AAU I was selected to play on Indy Heat, a Nike sponsored program recognized as one of the best in our area. These were all big steps up in competition!  Basketball has really taught me the value of hard work and how the more effort you put into something the more it will pay off.  Academics are just as important to me as athletics. One of my main high school goals is to join the National Honor Society.  Academics are important because when basketball is over my education will carry me through life. I am told I am unique in the fact that every coach I’ve had says I am one of the most coachable kids they have worked with.  I know for sure that I will work hard to earn the spot you need filled on your roster!  Thank you for considering me for your team!
