Personal Statement
Coach,
My name is Bobby Wonnell and I am very interested in playing college basketball. Basketball is my passion. A lot of kids say that, but if you could see the way that I spend the time in my day, you would see that. I totally understand that there are kids all over the country that have a "goal" of being a division one basketball player, but don't have a plan or the work habits to match that high of a goal. I understand that a goal without a plan is a wish. I manage my time so that every day I can work on my game, my body and my grades to make sure that I am the most marketable student-athlete that I can be to prospective college coaches.
I am currently a freshman at Kokomo High School in Indiana. Kokomo High School is a 4A school (largest schools) and has won more sectional titles then any school in our state. Our school and community is rich in tradition. I was a full-time varsity player and by the end of the season a starter. This does not happen very often at a school like Kokomo. Whether it be in school ball or in summer ball, I have allways sought to be on teams that consist of great players at every position. I fully understand and enjoy playing team basketball, sharing the basketball, playing good teammates and being happy for all my teammates when great things happen for them.
In closing, I feel that my love, commitment and experience in playing this game that I love so much and understand that hard-work and commitment to daily improvement on the court, in the locker room and in the classroom is what seperates me from other players. I am a high charceter kid that only wants to contribute to building a program and winning.
