Gavin Post '24 Recruiting Profile

 Hi, my name is Gavin Post, and I have lived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for 12 years as my parents are missionaries helping children living in the streets. I want to play for a college that has a good basketball program, cares about my academics, and grows me into a man. I would be a great member of your team because I have excellent leadership skills and strive to get the best out of everyone. While I can put up some points, I like to get my teammates the ball for high-percentage shots. Assist is just as good as a bucket. 

What separates me from other recruits is while I have not had the chance to play club or AAU ball, I put in countless hours of individual work. I have been a CrossFit athlete for four years and have seen a massive change in my conditioning; this helps me not tire as quickly in games and outlast my opponents on the court. My self-discipline helps me balance academics, sports, and my own life. I will always give 110% in everything that I do. I am highly coachable, and I not only care about sports but also believe that high academics and serving the community are just as important. As a junior, I have a 4.26/4.75 weighted GPA, and on the court, I averaged 15.7PPG, 3.5 APG, 2.5 SPG and finished the season with 36 points in our final game.
