Personal Statement
I was born in the United States and am a US citizen but have lived my entire life in North Macedonia in Europe. I am a sophomore at NOVA International Schools, where I am a dedicated student and uphold a 4.0 GPA. I am the 3rd child of 6 in my family and as a result, have been raised to be competitive and cooperative. I've played club basketball in North Macedonia since I was 9, and am in my 5th season with Vodno Suns Partizan. In the previous 4 seasons, we have won U14 and U16 National Championships and the European Youth Basketball League U15 Championship last year in Finland. Living, studying, and playing basketball in Europe has taught me many things such as relating to other cultures and languages, being adaptable, and learning the European basketball style of play.
I am very dedicated to working hard with my club and high school teams. On average every week, I have a minimum of 6-7 practices with my club team and an additional 2 practices with my high school team. To add to that, my club teams' season is almost year-round, stretching from August all the way to mid-June.
In terms of character, I try to be a selfless basketball player and not just strive for my own success but for the success of my teammates and team as well. I also served in an important leadership role in my club team's European championship last year, both on and off the court, encouraging and lifting up my teammates to achieve success. In terms of goals, I hope to attend a school where I can achieve both my athletic and academic goals. I am still unsure about which academic field I would like to pursue in college, so for the time being, I am dedicating myself to all my studies.
