With a senior season in the playoffs and our high school team ranked #1 in our league and #1 in the province of Alberta at the highest level of competition in the province and personally being named league MVP among many other personal MVP awards through the year at various tournaments, we were suddenly shut down because of COVID and not able to finish our run at winning the province.
From an early age I have had a couple of goals. One is to attend post-secondary to obtain a degree and play basketball at a high level. I also have had a life-long goal to serve a 2 year mission for my church. Both goals will take hard work, determination and dedication.
In July of 2020 I began my church mission and will be returning after a successful and very amazing 2 years in June of 2022. This experience has helped me grow and mature as an individual and learn the power of service to our fellow man. I can't wait to take the things I have learned about myself and my experiences to devote them to school and basketball. The leadership skills I have developed over the past two years will prove to be invaluable.
I know that as you look at my profile, despite the accolades, awards and success both individually and with my teams, you may still see a small kid from Southern Alberta and have some doubts. Throughout my athletic career, I have always faced these doubts and when given a chance, have used my grit, determination, confidence, abilities and leadership skills to be successful at every level.
I am confident that when given a chance, I will prove my worth to a program.
