Xavier Stanley '21 Recruiting Profile

I've always had an uphill battle in my sporting career, being sometimes up to almost two years younger than the players I'm going up against, but that has never stopped me being the hardest working and most determined player wherever I go. Not only does it give me a challenge, but it motivates me to work harder and become better than I am currently, because it will mean that I get to prove all of my doubters and haters wrong!

Winning the state championship for just the second time in my school's history this year was a big highlight for me, and it was really special to be apart of the team that did it, because we had a lot of skilled players and never looked like losing. But what shaped me and my attitude was losing the state championship two years beforehand, by a layup with just seconds left. It motivated me to get back into the team and get back on the winners list, and that's exactly what I did.

Over the course of my sporting endeavours, I've learned the values of sacrifice, teamwork and leadership are so important to a team, and I believe I possess those values, and I hold them in very high regard. I believe I always work my hardest whenever I step onto the court, and I can be the player that is going to put in 110% every time, no questions asked. 

I believe that with some guidance and direction, I can develop into the lead player for your program, and it would be an honour to be able to receive an opportunity to play for a college team!
