I am Ricky Gacovski, 6 foot Small Forward/ Shooting Guard. The way I position myself as a player is reliable, ambitious, and strong. I value having the ability to step up and show leadership, but still being able to encompass unity with my fellow team mates. Due to Australia’s school system not having as great of a focus on professional sports, I have deliberately arranged my life, and restructured my education around growing my experience and talents as a basketball player, as I now attend a less time intensive version of my high school education, and have put my time into joining multiple basketball teams and leagues, currently being in a Division 2 Victorian Representative team and attending the Chisholm Sports Academy. I do believe that the dedication I have shown to rescheduling all my time around my passion for basketball has allowed me to have the most amount of time to grow into the player that I am. This was further recognised by being selected to play for the National Aus Under 18’s Team, to which I was selected to play in the 2020 AAU tournament , which has unfortunately been cancelled due to the current global predicament. I am a versatile asset to a team as I predominately play a small forward, but can easily switch out as a point guard or shooting guard. My shot creating and goal accuracy skills are something that I take pride in with my goal percentage at 45%, and 95% from free throw; My team’s trust in my goal shooting has led to being Grade A Champions, and winning the 2018 National Championships, as well as currently consecutive running Most Valuable Player as of 2016,2018,2019, and Most Improved Player 2016-2018 seasons.
