Personal Statement
Dear coach,
I have been playing basketball since I was 8 years old. I have a passion for all aspects of the game - as a player I’ve made state selection and played top grade club competition, I umpire and coach in our local junior comp and I‘m an NBA and NBL fan.
I’ve been a multi-sport athlete and competed at state level in swimming and surf life saving. I have decided though to pursue basketball at higher levels but continue to swim for fitness and I work part time as a fully registered pool lifeguard.
On the court I'm a playmaker and can score at all three levels but my key asset is the flexibility I bring to my teams. I'm 6’6 and have great length and ball handling ability. I play either guard position or on the wing, but I can capably defend positions 1 through 4. I'm a great one on one defender, but just as happy playing within a zone or other defensive scheme where I can switch from disrupting perimeter players to blocking shots at the rim and pulling in rebounds. I have always been an above average rebounder and shot blocker and love creating for others out of the back court.
