2018 Highlights
Class 2018 - 6ft ...
April 2017My passion is to go all the way with basketball. As a child, having a long wingspan enabled me to excel at discus, where I competed at Club, County, and National level. My journey into basketball could be considered unconventional, as I was discovered by a basketball coach at a local club in a Talent ID session aged 16. I have not looked back since! My most outstanding feature is my work ethic; I place value on hard work, persistence, integrity, and accountability.
My passion is to play NCAA basketball despite being faced with the challenge of coming into the game much later, I believe my work ethic and ability to absorb information will result in achieving my goal. I have attended numerous camps with some of the best in the business such as Alan Stein, Drew Hanlen (Pure Sweat) and Spencer Wood as I developed my play.
In 2016, I was selected to represent my country playing with the U17 England team and played at the Cherbourg International Tournament in France. Last year I represented my country again playing with U18 England team and played at the Haris International Tournament in Manchester, England. Additionally, I was selected as a Top50 in the United Kingdom and attended Deng Camp, London this year. I am currently ranked 21 in the United Kingdom.
Currently, I attend John Madejski Academy as I complete my studies and the school has a basketball academy run by Reading Rockets. For the past two seasons, I have been playing for Reading Rockets EABL league. While I am not the finished product, I am hungry to succeed and importantly, I never give up!
Reference – Alex Sarama, NBA International Basketball Operations ([email protected]) states “I came across Will two years ago, and have been working him out when visiting family in England. He has improved tremendously after the last two seasons, and I have no doubt that he could be an effective D1 player if placed in the right program. He is developing a soft shooting stroke, and I cannot speak more highly of his attitude and work ethic. He would definitely add to the culture of any program.”
