My name is David Corrales, and I am in the class of 2019. I consider myself as a Point Guard but I can play as a Shooting Guard also. I have been playing for Basket Zaragoza (CAI Zaragoza, one of the best basketball clubs in Spain), for the last 5 seasons.
During the 2017-2018 season I have been playing about 25 minutes per game at the U18 Team, averaging 11.2 points and 5.2 assists. I have also played 20 games so far in the EBA league, a senior competition that is right under the professional leagues in Spain.
I am a very good defender and a good 3-point shooter, with a great stealing ability and a remarkable individual technique. But if there is something that I want to stand out from my way of playing basketball is my understanding and vision of the game and my role as a team player.
I have been playing now for 4 years against top teams in the nation, obtaining a Bronze Medal in the last U16 National Championship. I have a tremendous interest in your University because I want to compete at the highest level possible for me, and continue improving in playing basketball. With my experience and way of playing I think I can fit in your team and contribute to the success of it.
For the Academics side, I´m a good student, A-level, even with the handicap that I spend about 3 hours per day training with the team, and playing 2 games per weekend, with my category and the Senior EBA League. I love maths, and I desire to start my bachelor in that field of studies.
I want to study in the US, because my uncle was graduated at the University of Georgia. He played college tennis, and even won the NCAAs, it was an amazing experience for him. He and my father founded (and they are managing) a recruiting agency, AGM Sports, helping over 1.500 international students to complete their education and playing college sports in the US. I think studying in the US is a great opportunity for growth in academics, and of course by the athletics side.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon and thanks for your time.
