William Caldwell '28 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is William Caldwell. I'm 15 years old, born on the 4th of March 2010. I live in Whitby, Porirua, Wellington, New Zealand. I began playing basketball at the age of 12 and have always dreamed of playing at the collegiate level.

I am a very capable shooter with a strong handle and a high basketball IQ. I play a true point guard role and pride myself on being a leader both on and off the court. I push my teammates in practice and lead by example by consistently putting in extra work. I’m highly coachable and can adapt to different roles, whether that’s running the team as a floor general, being a top scorer, or spacing the floor as a spot-up shooter.

I have a disciplined work ethic and always bring 100% effort to every training session. Outside of practice, I spend time in the weight room getting stronger to improve my on-court performance. Academically, I take my studies seriously, I’ve passed all my Year 11 (10th grade) assessments so far and have achieved excellence in Math and Physical Education.

In terms of experience, I’ve traveled to Australia with Aotearoa Basketball Development U16 A team to compete in the The Eltham-Dandenong Junior Basketball Tournament in Australia and will be traveling to the United States, Long Beach/California in 2026 for another high-level tournament with Aotearoa Basketball Development U17 A team.

My goal is to play college basketball, preferably at the Division 1 level, but I’m open to any program that challenges me both academically and athletically. I want to compete at the highest level possible while continuing to grow as a player and person. I’m looking for the right fit a college that will push me on the court and in the classroom.
