Back in middle school, I usually shot around and played by myself in gym, when all my class mates played soccer. I even remember my teacher asking me why I loved basketball so much and I said that I didn’t know all I knew was that I wanted to play. It wasn’t long before I was able to catch the eyes of my friends, who are now my teammates, which was the initiation of our team.
After one long desperate year a sport center was willing to take and train us as a team, in which we returned the favor by bringing two trophies in which I was the captain of the team and also named MVP of the year 2017’s season. Sadly the center had an age limit and we were forced to leave. It was then I and a teammate decided that we had to do something, in terms of giving back to our sport community, we decided to volunteer in a camp, to train kids under 13 while gaining experience for ourselves with the bigger guys.
It was on the third day that I saw someone I least expected to. It was Daniel Haileluel, the person I looked up to since I started basketball, it was a bit hard to recognize him with his new hairstyle but it was him. Being lucky enough to spend time with him not only as a coach but as a friend was wonderful, specially being the apprentice of Danny and him being the boost I needed to look into college basketball and the reason you can find me on the NCSA.
