Aaron Gust '25 Recruiting Profile

If I were to describe my best quality to any basketball coach it would be my love for the game. Ever since I was a kid, my number one goal has been to play basketball at the collegiate level, and I have been fully dedicated to making that dream come true every day. I do everything I possibly can on and off the court to ensure that I am the best basketball player and asset that I can be to whatever coach, team or organization that I play for. This includes daily training on the court and in the weight room, constant video and film, recovery, and most importantly work in the classroom.

I have two amazing parents that have instilled in me a strong, dedicated work ethic that is the foundation of my basketball career. It drives me to get better each and every day.

  I have started on the Hutchinson Trinity Catholic Varsity Basketball Team since my freshman year. I am a team leader and will do anything to win. I am very coachable, and the first guy to communicate on and off the court. I truly value my defensive game. I have grown to love the challenge of guarding & pressure especially in our full court defense. My offensive game has really taken off. I have strong shooting and playmaking skills, and this year I have grown significantly in attacking & finishing around the basket. Regardless the situation, I strive to be the hardest working player on any team I play on.

I play basketball every day year round. In the fall, I train for the upcoming winter school season, and I play Mcpherson College Fall League Games every Sunday. During the spring and summer, I play AAU for Kansas Select under Ottowa College coach Jared Mocaby, traveling around the midwest for tournaments and showcases.

I put my full effort into my studies, and maintain a high GPA. I am a High Honor Roll student. By next year, I will eventually become a member of the National Honors Society.

I want to go to a school that will push me to be the best student athlete I can be. I am beyond interested in all options and want to play at the highest competition level possible. I inspire to become a great role model to the people around me and to fulfill my dream of being a college basketball player.
