Jasper Sallee '26 Recruiting Profile

Spring 2020, my 6th grade school year would be finished online due to Covid.  My parent's were not able to work from home so once I had my school work finished I spent the rest of the day watching college basketball reruns, NBA Bubble games and shooting baskets outside for hours. It was then that my passion for basketball and dreams of playing in college would begin.  It was then that my parent's would see my passion and begin instilling in me what it would take to make my dream come true. 

My parent's met while in college competing in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. They purchased a small farm when they got married in 2006 and my dad would bring 5 head of cows and a borrowed tractor with him to Kansas from Arkansas.  I have grown up watching them both work full time jobs while pursuing their passion and dream of building a successful farm.  I have worked along side them and learned the valuable lesson that nothing comes easy and hard work and hustle is the best way to make your dreams happen.  My parents today have 85 head of cows, own 220 acres of land and all the farming equipment they need to be successful.  The work ethic my parents have instilled in me and expect of me not only on the farm but in my grades and on the basketball court sets me apart.  

It is my goal that my work ethic reflects every time I suit up and step on the court.  It's my goal that my work ethic be a good example for my team.  It's my goal that my work ethic carries into the classroom. It's my goal that my work ethic is what college coaches notice first.  Its is my goal that my work ethic provides me the opportunity to play basketball at the collegiate level.
