Mikey Coppersmith '19 Recruiting Profile

In college I want to be a student athlete. Getting a good education is very important to me because I want to have a bright future and I know that all starts with dedication and hard work. I love the sport of basketball and I definitely want to play in college. Ever since I was a little kid, I knew that basketball was a passion of mine. What I love most about basketball is the competition .I always want to be the best. I work hard to accomplish that. I do whatever it takes to be the most complete basketball player I can be. I really enjoy being out on the wing playing the shooting guard position. I love to handle the ball and to be a play maker. However ,my favorite thing to do is lock down my man.I like to get after it on defense.I strive on playing a physical "in your face" kind of defense. On the offensive end, I am pretty well rounded.  I am usually a matchup problem. If I have a small defender, I like to bring him inside and use my body and play physical. If the defender is bigger, I use my speed and quickness to get around him on the arc. My game plan is always attack. My best trait is my leadership.I am the captain of my AAU team .I am not only a vocal leader but a leader by example. I love to work as hard as I can to get better.
What separates me from other recruits is my academics. I am very dedicated to my school work. I sometimes even study while I am doing my dribbling drills down in my basement.
On the court, I am a completely different person. I am competitive, loud, and in your face. Off the court, I am outgoing, fun and like to be around my friends.
