Basketball is my life. It always has been and it always will be. No matter how old I get I will always love the game of basketball. Being a professional basketball player has been my dream for a long time. Since the first day I was accidentely introduced to basketball, up until now. My greatest memory of playing basketball is when my 8th grade club team won a tournament in Grand Forks against lots of american teams. My biggest learning curve while playing basketball would have to be during my 9th grade school basketball season. I was coming off a great year in 8th grade and was used to having the ball in my hands most of the time. In 9th grade, since i was playing against older and stronger competition, I had to learn to trust my teamates and not be a one man team. It was tough at first but once I got used to it, we became a much better team and became one of the best teams in our division. My greatest motivating factor is being doubted. When I was younger and the teacher would ask the class what they wanted to be when they grew up, I would tell them that I wanted to be a basketball player. I could tell that they were skeptical and I can't blame them, even some of my friends doubt me, but that just fueled me to become even better and prove them wrong. Playing basketball helps me with a lot of things in life. When I'm going through tough times, I turn to basketball. When I need to clear my head, I turn to basketball. When I just need to relax or need some space, I turn to basketball.
