Personal Statement
Basketball has been a part of my life ever since I was six ever since I sat down with my parents and watched what I thought at the time a bunch of grown men throwing a ball around . I tried playing basketball when I was seven then once again when I was eleven and once again when I was twelve. For some reason It me so long to really want to play basketball. I was always scared of failing of not being the best. But I played one basketball game during a gym class and a fire spark in me . I knew that this is something that I want to do seriously. From that point on basketball would be the biggest impact in my life , it made me competitive not just athletically but academically as well . When nothing makes sense I pick up a basketball and do what I have to do and suddenly everything makes sense again. If there's one thing that basketball has taught is it's okay to fail sometimes like Micheal Jordan said, " I can accept failure, I can't accept not trying ".
