I have been playing basketball since I was five years old. I have always dreamt about playing at the next level because my older brother played D1 college football, so I would like to follow in his footsteps for basketball. I love the pace and the thrill of the game especially when it is a close game. Over the next three years of high school, I will work to increase not just my skills but my knowledge and understanding of the game. Working with my high school team, AAU team, and personal trainers will allow me to turn my potential into performance.
I grew taller than many of my teammates at an early age, which allowed me to play a variety of positions. This has been instrumental in becoming an all-around player. I believe that this experience will translate into my college level playing because it has allowed me to understand the role of each position on the court. I am a natural leader and work to encourage my teammates on/off the court. One of the aspects that I love about playing on a basketball team is the brotherhood that comes from playing with a group of guys who share a common passion.
My parents have always pushed the importance of a college education, so I have always known that I was expected to graduate from college. Playing basketball will allow me to fulfill my dreams and aspirations while earning my college degree. My family is huge on sports, all of my siblings have played a sport in high school and/or college. I am the youngest of seven, so I am "The Last Dance."
