Michael Matthews '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Michael Matthews I currently am taking a prep year at Gillion Basketball Academy in Springfield Virginia. I’m a 6'5" wing/stretch four who brings size, versatility, and energy to the court. I can play in the paint, knock down shots when needed, and defend multiple positions. I take pride in being a hustler and a hard worker; someone who’s willing to do whatever it takes to help the team succeed. I push myself to the limit every day to keep improving and growing as a player. My goal is to compete at the highest level of college basketball possible and to be part of a program that values effort, toughness, and a team-first mentality. I’m coachable and quick to learn new roles or positions, and I always embrace whatever responsibility a coach gives me. What makes me different from other recruits is my character. I’m outgoing, uplifting, and I want to see everyone around me win. I’m unselfish both on and off the court, and I believe that true success comes from pushing each other to be great  together.
