Matthew Havey '17 Recruiting Profile

My name is Matthew Havey from Lansing, Mi.  I am a 6 ft PG/SG in the class of 2017 and I attend Lansing Christian High School.  I have always wanted to play basketball in College and I want to major in General Business. I believe my unique basketball skills; shooting, basketball IQ, ball handling and attitude make me a good fit for your program.

Quick Background:  I am a scorer, athlete and leader.  I hold a MHSSA record for Three-Point Field Goals Made (7/7) and have had multiple games scoring 30+pts.  I was selected as a captain on my high school team and I have been a starter since my freshman year.  This year I averaged 17 ppg, 4 rpg, 3 apg.  For my career, I am a 1000 point scorer and a career 46% 3pt shooter.  I received a few post season awards; I was selected to the all-state team (Free Press and AP) as a sophomore and a junior.  I also made first team all-league, all-area and BCAM academic all-state.  I was invited to both Michigan Elite 25 and the BCAM reaching higher camps and I always seem to play my best when we face tough competition.  During the tournament over the past two years I have lead our team to the regional finals averaging more than 20 ppg.  As a student, I currently have a 3.7 GPA and I am an active member of the National Honor Society.
