Austin Burns '25 Recruiting Profile

My mom and dad have influenced me the most out of anybody. They have provided me with opportunities to succeed. My mom always ensured I had a basketball in my hands since I was little; we used to have dribbling competitions in the kitchen. She was the one who piqued my interest in basketball. I have excellent ball-handling skills.  I see the floor well on offense or while pushing up the court. I have a good GPA, but I am always striving for better. In college, I plan to study business. A specific skill I need to work on is being a more vocal leader for my team. As a freshman, I was a JV captain. I was pushing myself throughout the season, and the varsity coach saw that, and by the time the district came around, he moved me up to varsity. What made the experience even better was winning districts and getting playtime in that game. The last two years I have started on varsity. In my sophomore year, I helped earn another district and conference title for our team. This past year, I was a captain of Varisty, 1st Team All-Conference, and MVP for my team. I currently play AAU basketball with Team Truth as the starting PG. I aim to be a more vocal leader and take charge in critical moments.
