My Collegiate goals and aspirations:
What makes me a good candidate:
I am a good candidate for various reasons, which I will describe throughout the following sentences. First, I continuously set my self aside from the regular college prospect within my character. Whether I am on the basketball court, inside the classroom, or I am inside my household, I strive to be the best leader I can be. Examples of my leadership include leading my team to countless victories, providing my classmates and peers with assistance when they are struggling, and also providing support and strength for my family when it is needed the most. Along with leadership, I consider myself one of the most exceptionally driven and determined people I know, and I assure you my family and friends share the same opinion. I have come to the conclusion that I will do whatever is needed to succeed academically and athletically, to achieve my goal of playing Division I Collegiate Basketball, and receiving the highest level of education. I consistently put in around 4 hours of work each day, give or take regarding my schedule. Whether I must wake up at 5 A.M. to workout, or sacrifice time with my friends to work on my game and my schoolwork, I make sure that I get the most out of each productive day that I live. Also, goal-setting has been a major factor in my success. This past school-year, I set a goal to become a part of National Junior Honor Society, which is a prestigious academic accomplishment that I am proud to say I am a part of. Along with my academic goals, I have set goals for myself on the basketball court, as well as at home. Another reason as to why I am different from other recruits regarding character is the way I handle and control myself. Throughout my previous years of athletics, I often had trouble absorbing the positives from a loss, or a poor performance, and let my mistakes dictate the way I competed. I believe that I have overcome what has been such a great barrier for myself, as I now continue to put each game behind me, and constructively criticize myself after each performance. Lastly, I believe my athletic potential and previous performances are significantly remarkable. Whether I am competing with the athletes of my class, or athletes within the classes of 2018, 2017, etc., I continue to receive recognition and complements regarding my game from audiences around the community. I believe that with the combination of my maturity, potential, and character, I am the most well-rounded candidate.
