Adam Patton '19 Recruiting Profile

    My passion has been playing basketball ever since I was a boy.  My older brother has been my role model growing up and I wanted to be like him.  He is currently a college basketball player and I've seen him get recruited and dedicate so much time and effort to becoming a really good player.  Watching him has made me realize how much I want to play at the college level.  I have the work ethic,  attitude and drive necessary for me to learn to play at the next level.  I am a very coachable player as I listen to my coaches instruction on how to improve on my game.

    What differentiates me as a player is that I take immense pride in my defensive skills.  I love to play tough defense.  I am a hustle player and love to guard the best players on the opposing teams and completely shut them down.  I like to analyze their habits and determine how I can stop them.  I am also smart off the ball and have quick hands which has led me to hold the record for the most steals in one game for my school with twelve, and also the highest average steals per game for my school with 5.8 last season.  I am one of the fastest people in my league.  I dive for loose balls, and I sacrifice my body for the team.   It has been said by other school's coaches that I wreak havoc on the floor and throw the other team off their game.  

    Along with my defensive game I have solid offensive skills as well.  I am a good three point shooter (tied the school record for three's in a game this year)  and I am good using my quickness at driving and getting to the basket.  I am an unselfish player and love to see my teammates contribute.  I love to motivate my team and have been a captain both my sophomore and junior years. 

    Academics are important to me as well.  I currently have a 3.4 GPA overall with a 3.8 GPA this semester, taking a heavy load of Anatomy, Pre-Calculus, Honors World History, and Physics.  I am planning on becoming a physical therapist and am particularly interested in helping children in this area.
