I am looking to find a school that I can further my goals of becoming an Engineer. I really enjoy working with Robotics and have been heavily involved in it for two years. In March I get to go to Palau where I will use the under water robot that I helped build to look for downed WWII planes and possibly lost pilots and crew. I am hoping that my talents as a shooter can help a team somewhere become more successful. I have put in countless hours to develop my range and accuracy. This work has helped me become the single season record holder at my school for Three Point Shots in a season during my Junior year with 46. I broke that record on February 19 and finished with 56 this season. This currently leads the Jackson and Lansing area. I also just broke the single game record with 7 in a game. That very same game I surpassed the Career Record for Three Point shots made and finished my career with 102 3 Pointers made.
After the season I was a unanimous selection 1st Team All Conference (CAAC White) where I was voted Honorary Captain. I also was recently awarded All CAAC Academic honors and Honorable Mention All State for Class B in Michigan.
I have found Basketball to be good preparation for life. In order to make it I have found that you must put in quality time. I can see how this will translate into my future life. When I get a job later on after basketball is over I really believe that it will be the times spent in the gym - both in practice and games -that will prepare me for real life.
Basketball has also provided me with an avenue to be a good example for my two little brothers. They look up to me and I know I have to show them the right way to do things. I have to maintain the highest character and effort because I know they are always watching, and it is important to me to fulfill that role. Being drug and alcohol free allow me to be the right big brother they need.
My dad is a coach and the first thing he taught me is it is more important to be the best guy for the team rather than the best guy on the team. You can be sure that when you ask me to be a part of your team and I accept that I will be the teammate and player that you want in your program.
