Ray Brau '27 Recruiting Profile

My name is Raymond Brau, and I am a sophomore at Hibbing High School. I am a student athlete who takes much pride and responsibility in academics and basketball. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA, since 7th grade, am enrolled in honors classes, and participate in extracurricular activities such as band and math team. I also care a lot about my friends, teammates and family. I hope to study a career along the paths of math or health, to become a teacher or doctor.

I am a 6 ft 8 in player who is currently averaging 23.6 points and 14.0 rebounds for our varsity program.  I love to play the role of a center or forward. I love to play on the block to score, but also like to play on the perimeter to attack and shoot. I take most responsibility and put most care into my defense and rebounding, including defending the one through five. I am a great team player, who works well with my team and coaches. I love to do all the little things as far as talking and hustling on the basketball floor.

Basketball teaches us life skills. A work ethic, teamwork, leadership, resiliency, time management, respect, responsibility, discipline are qualities I have learned from basketball that will continue to carry me not only through my basketball career, but my life. Through these mentioned qualities, I continue to strive to become a part of a collegiate basketball team, where I can also earn an education.
