I am a dynamic player who loves the game of basketball. I spend much of my free time watching and studying the game to learn details that can help me to become a better player on the court. I am a team player and recognize the value of all 5 players on the court, as well as those who support from the bench. One way this is demonstrated is through the high average number of assists I make in the games I play. I have led the teams I play for in assists for several years, as I have learned to be selfless and play to win from a team perspective. I do shoot the ball and drive in to score, having scored double doubles on more than one occasion and come close to triple doubles several times before.
I am not driven by personal attention but instead by winning. I recognize that in order to be a winner, I must maintain an outlook that points to maximizing the best options for the team in scoring. This materializes for me many times in the form of an assist. One of my favorite professional players to watch and learn from has been former NBA player, Jason Williams. He has been a master at “the assist” and an invaluable player because of it. I value learning through constructive and positively delivered feedback, while striving to give 110% and be the best.
I recognize the gift I have to play comes ultimately from God and therefore I choose to live my life in such a way that He is honored. I understand that people who become the best at what they do are in the position to "influence," which I intend to do through the choices I make, the stands I take, the way I treat others with respect, consideration and honor and consequently, how I play the game of basketball.
I am looking for an athletic organization within an institution of higher learning where my world view, character, and basketball skills will be valued and contribute in elevating their basketball organization to a higher level, while acquiring an education that will prepare me for my future. I understand the value of a great education and will consider it a privilege to play basketball while successfully completing my under-graduate studies.
I have plans to continue playing basketball at the highest level possible, post collegiate, while incorporating my education in this endeavor to succeed simultaneously through other ventures in the industry. I hope to use any financial success and influence towards the creation and enhancement of world class competitive basketball programs, including scholarship funding, focused towards athletes of excellence in non-traditional schooling communities. I am looking for a university within which I will be a natural fit. I value the chance to be considered for an athletic scholarship and look forward to pursuing opportunities that fit within both a university's and my scope of focus.
