Dawson Owen '19 Recruiting Profile

As a multi sport athlete, it has always been my goal to play at the college level.  I have had success at the highest level in both basketball and baseball and have recently decided to pursue basketball full time.  What sets me apart form other players are these characteristics:

* I never get out worked. I strive to win every sprint, every skills contest, every game and I push myself to get better everyday.  

* I am not only a good player and leader on the floor but I am a student of the game.  I understand every position on the floor and have exceptional court vision and understand that it's not just my performance that counts but making my teammates better is what ultimately brings success.

* I play hard on both ends of the floor. I pride myself in playing great defense. It matters as much to me that I don't get beat on defense as it does how may points I score. 

* I always treat my coaches,  teammates,  friends,  and family with respect.

* I understand the value of a good education and have set a goal to become an academic All-American student athlete.

As I develop my skill set as a player I will pursue to help better my teammates and compete at an extremely high level.  When I'm on the court or sitting on the bench I will always find ways to make my teammates around me better.  I plan to represent the university I chose the right way.  I understand that the way I present myself is the way I represent not only my teammates and coaches, but the entire university.  Throughout my college years at the university I decide to attend, my goal is to become a better person not only on the court, but off the court as well. I will strive to achieve my business major that will prepare me for life after college while leading my team to the ultimate level and playing for a college championship.
