Personal Statement

I am a small town, small stature kid who views this as strength not a weakness. I have grown up on a farm working for my family,  and working other jobs. I have also played numerous sports along with basketball (football, baseball, track), which has helped me learn to balance sports, academics and work. I do not shy away from hard work or being busy. Growing up in a small town has given me a great foundation for my future. I have been raised by my parents and my community to not only be hard working, but show good character all around. I have had an amazing support system that has encouraged me to give 110% in all areas of my life, and I am seeing the payoff of that as I get older. As for my small stature, I have never viewed myself as small. I have always played sports bigger than I am. Being small did help me learn how to use my body,  speed and endurance to compete with players bigger than me. I also knew I needed to master my skills and knowledge of the game which I continue to work to improve.  I am excited to even be considering playing basketball at the collegiate level as this has been a goal of mine.

  • We have entered the top division in each tournament we have played. In the 3 games I played in Omaha June 1-3, I was able to put up 22, 25 and 22 points. I was not able to play in the other games due to a commitment to my baseball team. We also played in Omaha on May 18-20, and while I do not have my exact point totals, I averaged between 15-20 points per game over 5 games played that weekend.
