I plan to attend college and play college basketball in my future. I would describe myself as a young man who is highly motivated, hard-working, and who makes good choices on and off the court. As a basketball player, I put in many hours practicing to improve my game every day.
I think I would be a great asset to any basketball program. I’m a great team player and I am coachable and can play different roles on a team. For example, I can be a true point guard and get the ball to whoever is hot. I like to take on the scoring role, and hit a big shot when my team needs it. I can get the steal on defense, and break a press when I need to. I can really be that team leader that does whatever I need to do to help the team and make others better.
My parents describe me as a motivated person who wants to find his best. My parents would say that I’ve done a good job of being coachable and adapting to the different teams I have been on. My coaches would describe me as a hard worker with a high basketball IQ, who they can depend on the whole practice and the whole game. They would say that I have great court awareness and leadership skills. My coaches would also say that I’m a very good shooter and that I have very strong fundamentals.
For my college basketball experience, I am hoping to fit into a coach’s style of play that is more up-tempo, like a team that likes to shoot the 3-pointer as part of the offense. I think that I could really help a basketball program in many ways, and I look forward to my academic and basketball future.
